France Work Visa

If you’re applying for a work visa to France from Pakistan, here are the key details you need to know:

Types of Work Visas:
  1. Short-Stay Work Visa (valid for up to 90 days): Ideal for short-term assignments or business travel. This visa cannot be extended.
  2. Long-Stay Work Visa (valid for 3 months to 1 year): Required for employment exceeding 90 days. You may need to apply for a residence permit if your stay exceeds the visa duration.

Application Requirements:

  • Work Authorization: Your employer in France must apply for this through the French authorities (DIRECCTE).
  • Visa Application Form: Completed on the France-Visas website.
  • Passport: Valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay, with two blank pages.
  • Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos.
  • Proof of Residency: If applying from a country other than Pakistan, legal residency proof is required.
  • Visa Insurance: Proof of health insurance coverage during your stay.
  • Qualification Documents: Copies of your degrees, certifications, and previous work experience.

Application Process:

  1. Your employer submits the work permit request at least 3 months before your planned start date.
  2. Fill out your visa application on the France-Visas platform and book an appointment through VFS Global or TLS Contact.
  3. Attend the appointment with your documents and pay the visa fee (EUR 99 for long-term visas).
  4. Wait for processing (15 to 45 days, depending on the complexity).
  5. Collect your passport once notified.

Work Visa Fee:

  • Short-Stay Visa: EUR 60
  • Long-Stay Visa: EUR 99
Fees must be paid in local currency during your appointment.

Additional Notes:

  • Any changes in employment or employer will require a new work permit.
  • Work permits are often tied to specific employers and regions.
